International Pillow Fight Day 2014: Hong Kong
Since coming to Hong Kong, I've been following a blog named Hong Wrong, a very convenient resource to keep yourself updated with the latest things to do in and around this city. The owner, Tom Grundy, helps host the Hong Kong 'chapter' of the International Pillow Fight Day. He got my attention at 'pillow fight'.
Taking place on a quiet Saturday afternoon in the Central district of Hong Kong in Chater Garden, a mass of people came armed with their pillows and decked out in unique costumes. Oh, and how can I forget the masses of media and photographers? I wasn't the only one who had the same idea.
This event put a smile on my face. In a city that's just constantly in a rush, it's great to see people of all ages drop everything, swing a pillow into a stranger's face and have a genuine smile.
Happy people make me happy. I was smiling like a dork the entire time I was shooting. Happy is contagious.
